Recipe | Munchy Crunchy Meat Treats for Your Dog!

Sent in by Anita Pool

"I have made these treats for years for my dogs at home, I don't even remember where I got the recipe. I have been bringing them to all of the fundraiser events during the last year that the Leadership Aransas County Class XVI has held to benefit the Dog Park. These treats have been a big hit with every doggie I know (plus a few kitties have enjoyed them, too) & I would like to share the recipe for dog lovers all around the Coastal Bend in honor of the Grand Opening of the Rockport Dog Park."

  • 1/2 cup non-fat powdered milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups rice or wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 teaspoons broth (chicken or beef)
  • 1 jar baby food meat (any flavor)

Directions: Combine all ingredients well. Roll dough out onto a floured surface & cut in desired shapes with a cookie cutter. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. Let cool; the treats should be hard & crunchy.
