"Insalata Caprese is a simple salad from the Italian region of Campania (Capri). It is traditionally made with vine ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella slices, basil and seasoned with salt and pepper. - Tomato slices
- Mozzarella or provolone cheese
- Spinach leaves
- Prepared Vidalia Onion and Poppyseed Dressing
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional red onion slices
- Chopped fresh basil leaves
Starting at one end of serving plate alternate pieces of torn spinach leaves, 1/2 slice of cheese, tomato slice, basil or onion slice. Grate Parmesan cheese over plate and drizzle with dressing. Another serving suggestion: Make individual salad plates using same procedure as shown in photo by alternating spinach leaves, cheese, tomato, basil, grated Parmesan cheese and dressing.
