Rest in Peace | Cora (Corky) Aguilar Berry

Our family lost a loved one and Rockport lost an icon at 12:02 a.m. on October 1, 2012, when at the age of 89 Cora (Corky) Aguilar Berry went peacefully to be with her Lord.

A Rockport memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on November 10, 2012 at 4 pm. Further details and a full obituary will be published at a later date. The Family would be honored if you could please plan to attend the memorial service.

Many in Rockport community remember Corky’s Restaurant at the corner of S. Austin and Market St. and lots of folks enjoyed a good meal there. She and my daddy "retired" and built a home in Lockhart, Texas a number of years ago.

My Grandma! Although it still feels so surreal, I know that it will really hit me hard when the happy notes, cards, and phone calls just abruptly stop...beginning on November 4th when she would always make sure my card arrived on time and be the first one to call to sing happy birthday to me. Thank you Mom for introducing my Grandpa to my Grandma! My Grandma was such an amazing, loving, high-spirited, energetic, positive, humorous, loud christian woman...and I was her princess!

What lovely memories. I'm sure she will always be with you in spirit. May you be comforted at this time of sorrow.
