"Tallow Tree Removal Approved by City of Rockport" (via Rockport Pilot)

"The much-maligned Chinese tallow trees on City of Rockport property in the Tule Creek West area will be coming down. During the Tuesday, Feb. 26 meeting the Rockport City Council approved removal of the invasive plants, including the tallow trees, as part of a grant from the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program (CBBEP) with a 4-0 vote with one abstention.
