I always keep a metal cup in my survival kit. (Mine's an old measuring cup). I was told a long time ago that it's good for heating up food with a small lighter, or shielding a candle from the wind.

Kudos to WWN for posting this article. I took a few minutes to review the information and was also impressed with the cities evacuation plan and how clear it was to understand.
I also attended the hurricane conference again this year and have a much better understanding of not only storm surge/excess rain but all of the health issues etc that arise after a storm.
I commend our EMC's for hosting a wonderful program
