- (3) 3-inch Heat-Safe Ramekins
- 1 Large Apple (Granny Smith or Your Favorite Kind)
- 1/4 C. Brown Sugar
- 3 Tbsp. White Sugar
- Pinch of Nutmeg
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Clove (Optional)
- 3 Tbsp. of Real Butter
- 1 Box of Pre-made and Rolled Raw Pie Dough (You'll just need one roll)
- *Egg Wash = 1 Egg + 2 Tbs Water, Beaten
Peel and chop the large apple and place in a mixing bowl. Mix sugars and "pinches" with the apples. Let sit while working on ramekins.
Roll out the pre-made dough on the counter or cutting board....place a ramekin upside down on the dough and cut around the circle about 1 inch away from the ramekin. Take 1 Tbsp. of butter and rub the inside and top lip of the ramekins so that nothing sticks (Note: You could use spray, but it's not as yummy). Place the dough in the middle of the ramekin and press gently to the edges. Leave a little at the top of the ramekin to pinch top with. Do this 3 times for all ramekins. It is NOT necessary for this to be perfect. It will taste delicious with imperfections!
Next, dispense the apple mixture among all 3 ramekins equally. Chop up the remaining butter and "dot" it into the apples. Place the leftover pieces of pie dough over the apples and pinch what you can together. (Again, no extra points for perfection.) Mix the *Egg Wash and brush liberally over the ramekins. Cut a hole in the top of the dough so that air can escape during baking. Place on baking sheet, and bake at 400 degrees for Approx 20 Mins, or until golden brown. Let sit for approx 10-15 min before devouring!
Serve with vanilla ice cream for some added richness!
