Found Dog | Do you know who my owner is?

Labrador pup, approx. 1 year old, well mannered, found 9/24 west side of airport road. People said he has been sitting waiting in the same spot for a couple of days now.

Sounds like the dog was dumped and is waiting for his owner to return. Someone should take him to the Humane Society so they can find him a good home.

Take him to a NO KILL Animal Rescue organization, they will place him in a foster home until he is adopted. I am not familiar with the Humane Society, but I visualize caged and on a concrete floor with his days numbered 'til he is euthanized or gassed. After seeing "One Nation Under Dog" on HBO and watching is horror and shock and disbelief beautiful healthy dogs and puppies being gassed to death, I will NEVER take any animal to the city humane or city shelter.

In response to the above comments regarding No Kill. The Humane Society of Rockport Fulton is a No Kill facility. All animals that are taken in stay with us until they are fostered or adopted. Some of our friends have been with us for 6 years or more. Occasionally there is a medical issue that requires the animal to be put down, but that is a last resort for us. The animals that we take in are medically evaluated by a local vet, are treated for issues like heartworm and are spayed or neutered and given any shots that may be needed. There is plenty of room to run in the outside kennels, the dogs are generally 2 to a pen so they get to play with a friend. The smaller & older dogs and the cats have the option to play outside or inside in the A/C. Our facility is run strictly on donations, we have no government assistance. That being said, our staffing is limited so our volunteers have become the backbone of the organization. So, if you see our tent at Market Days or downtown, please consider dropping a donation into the jar, all of us, especially the animals appreciate every penny. Or, perhaps you'd like to donate your time to help out, there are many opportunities out at the shelter, come on by & we'll show you what's needed.

The Humane Society of Rockport-Fulton takes wonderful care of all of their animals. Two of my dogs came from the shelter where they had spent several years there waiting for homes. Both were in great shape when I adopted them, well-fed, groomed, and you could tell they were so well taken care of. The volunteers at RF Humane Society really care about the animals and would never cause them harm. This may not be the case with all Humane Societies, but I encourage anyone to just go by the one here in Rockport and see how great it is.
