Rest in Peace | Merlin J. Hartdegen, Former Rockport Resident

Merlin was on the Navigation District board for a number of years in Rockport before moving to Louisiana. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

MERLIN J. HARTDEGEN, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Beloved husband of Linda F. Hartdegen. Father of, Sean Paul Hartdegen (Cherie) of Kenner, LA, and Kevin Paul Hartdegen (Ginger) of Metairie, LA. Son of the late, George A. Nolan and Edna R. Nolan. Brother of Gerald G. Nolan (Lissette) of Kenner, LA. Also survived by 4 grandchildren: Heather, Dylan, Fallyn and Gia Hartdegen. A native of New Orleans, a former resident of Rockport, TX and a resident of Slidell since 2012.

Mr. Hartdegen served and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Marine Corps League, Kenner, LA. He retired as an Outside Sales Manager for NCR, Corp. after 37 years of service and served as the Aransas County Navigation District Commissioner for 3 terms. He was also a member of the Krewe of Dyonisis of Slidell, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.

Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, were on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation was at Honaker Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. until funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell, LA.
