via The Rockport Pilot -- Jo Beth Scott Hill died peacefully in her home in Rockport, Texas on February 1, 2014. She was born April 30, 1936 to J.O. and Johannah Walker Scott. She is preceded in death by her husband John Henry Hill and daughter Johannah Hope Hill. She is survived by her daughter Kathrine Elizabeth Hill; son John Henry Hill, Jr. and wife Jana Beth; daughter Ann Scott Hill Uhr and husband Mark Uhr; two sisters, Frances Tarkington and husband Murray Tarkington and Signora Syler. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Henry Hill, Ann Jo Lee Harvard Ito and Lauren Attaway and her great-grandchild, Johanna Page Hill. A remembrance and celebration was held at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Rockport, Texas on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 3:30p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation in Jo’s name be sent to the Texas Maritime Museum, 1202 Navigation Circle, Rockport, TX 78382 or Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse Ave., Austin, TX 78739.
