Can You Hear Me Now? Looking for recommendations on the best cell phone service for Rockport. My old phone is dying and I need to renew or change providers when we move permanently to Rockport. Thanks. Jeanette

I have AT&T which is fine around town but my cell phone doesn't work in my house! It was so bad we finally had to add a landline. Seems so backwards. I would be careful if you're new to the area. Don't want to have to pay twice as much if you don't have to.

It all depends on where you're going to actually need the phone. We have AT&T and out here on Copano Ridge, every thing is fine, however 1 mile down the road in Spanish Woods, there's no service at all. My advise would be to have friends over with different services & see who has the most bars.

Also be aware....AT&T tells you that you can purchase a "Cell booster"....it's this device that attached to your modem that boost the signal in your house. Be aware though, that it ONLY works with a cable modem...not a satellite wifi service. A few folks have argued with this statement locally but this was information I have gotten 2x directly from AT&T support. Of course they give you this info AFTER you've bought the $150 unit.....

I have Verizon Wireless and it works beautifully in town but out near Spanish Woods there is a "hole" where there is no service. (same as AT&T evidently)

My boyfriend has T-Mobile for years, and loved it. The only reason he ditched it was because they didn't have the iPhone at the time.

I use Cricket - inexpensive and has been excellent service. $34/week for unlimited calls/texts. I've had it for going on 3 years - no complaints!
