Pet Adoption | "Belle of the Ball Needs a Dance Floor"

This week, we’d like you all to meet Belle, an attractive and modest young pup. This girl in known throughout the shelter for her beauty and charm, yet she is not concerned at all about what others think. She seems to be oblivious of her good looks. She pays very little attention to her appearance, unlike some of the more conceited dogs in her run. Those readers who have small children will recognize this description; our girl is very much like Belle of Beauty and the Beast fame. However, this Belle can’t sing a lick! She also shares similarities with a few famous Southern belles. Take Blanche Dubois a Southern belle whose shameless flirting, lurid past, and her refusal to abandon her refined sensibilities even as she descends into ruin made her famous.

Well, the shameless flirting is the same. And then there is Zelda Fitzgerald, a formidable Southern belle, dubbed the original American flapper and became a feminist icon. Belle is both American and a feminist, she believes in equal play for all doggies. And then there is the most famous of belles, Scarlett O’Hara who is the epitome of everything that is a Southern belle. Her character goes from frivolous and vain to determined in less time than it takes you to say “there’s always Tara.”

We’ve never seen our Belle engage in vanity, but when she’s faced with a game of fetch, well; let’s just say that this is one determined pup. Come on down and meet this beauty, be mesmerized by her charms, enchanted with her intelligence and fall in love with her sweet personality.
