Roving Reporter | Have you met my leettle friend?...The Texas Brown Tarantula

With the help of some wonderful Facebook friends, we have determined that this is a Texas Brown Tarantula, which our Webmaster found in her garage this past weekend while cleaning!

Apparently they are quite docile and only rear up on their hind legs when they feel threatened. Don't kill them though if you find one!...they are super helpful as they eat pests many of us don't like, like cockroaches, beetles, meal worms, and occasional small mouse. Females live much longer than the males...they have been known to live up to and over 30 years of age! Wow. To read more check out Wikipedia here.

Where there are tarantulas, there are tarantula hawks. Google it, they're even scarier!
