If you camp, backpack or simply enjoy the outdoors from time to time, you may be aware that there are a few unfriendly, bloodsucking fellows among us. No, not mosquitoes (though that's a great guess)....Ticks! Ticks can spread Lyme Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, among others. This PDF from the CDC is aimed at health care providers, so it's a bit on the academic side, but very interesting and educational none the less.
