News Release, City of Rockport | "Rockport Police Officer Involved in Shooting"

At 2:51pm on Friday July 18, 2014, Officers of the Rockport Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 1141 North Fulton Beach Road. Upon arrival, they found a female suspect barricaded in the residence and allegedly threatening suicide. Officers breached the door and the suspect charged the Officers with a weapon. A Rockport Police Officer discharged his weapon, striking the female suspect. The suspect was transported to Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi and is listed in stable condition. Standard procedure requires that the Texas Rangers and Aransas District Attorney’s Office will assist in the investigation of an officer-involved shooting.
