Pet Adoption | Rockport-Fulton Humane Society: "Little Bit" Believes in Adoption

My name's "Little Bit" because I'm not very big, but I have a big story to tell about how I believe in adoption. Early this year, I had a litter of kittens when I was still a kitten myself. A lot of people don't know that cats can get pregnant as young as 5 months old, and females need to be spayed before that time.

Like many very young mothers, I had no family to support me. A kind person gathered me and my kittens up and took us to the Humane Society where they gave me a nice cage to keep my kittens safe and raise them.

The shelter staff thought I did a good job as a mother. No sooner were my kittens weaned and on their way to new homes than a new litter appeared at the shelter without a mother. I took one look and immediately adopted them. Unfortunately, that meant I had to care for them and pass up chances for adoption myself. Now they are raised and off in good homes . . . but I'm still at the shelter and looking for my own human family to adopt. I'm spayed and can't have any more kittens now but I still have lots of love to give.

I'm a pretty black-striped tiger tabby with green eyes and a few gold-flecks sprinkled in my fur. I'm hoping for a "little bit" of luck and someone will adopt me soon. Please come to the shelter and take me home.
