Roving Reporter | Partial Solar Eclipse, Thursday Oct 23, 2014 from Southwest Horizon

There will be a partial solar eclipse Thursday evening. First contact is at 5:42PM and the Sun will set partially eclipsed at 6:30PM. You will need a clear southwest horizon.

As a warning it is not safe to look at the Sun without a proper filter except right at sunset. Sunglasses are not a proper filter. You can project the image with binoculars. See grey image. Animated gif: Via Wikipedia
