The amazingly powerful and beautiful Star Wars character with the cute hairdo, twin sister of Luke Skywalker? Well, our featured dog this week will remind you of that Leia. Although not a revolutionary, our girl is famous for her strong leadership qualities (just ask her pen mate Chester) and her bright intellect, and her beauty.
Can she be trained to be a Jedi Knight? Probably not, but she can be taught that laps are good places to lay a head, that treats can be had by a soulful look and that her bed should be soft and sand free.
Now, Leia is going to need a very special family, one full of patience and understanding. She has been a shelter dog her whole life, she doesn’t know what the inside of a house looks like, furniture, carpet, stairs – they’re all strange to her. But don’t you think that at 9 ½ years old, she deserves a little comfort for the rest of her life?
Come out & meet this princess, take her for a walk (she’s great on the leash), give her a treat and see if there isn’t a place in your heart and home for a sweet, loving companion.
