Meet POB, a little guy with big dreams and a bigger story. You see, POB is named after the spot where he was abandoned - in a box at the Post Office. Hence Post Office Box!
Now, it may be that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of the very famous postal mascot Owney, but he's got a few things stacked against him. Number one being that POB has a long haired Dachshund in his heritage and Owney was a Borden Terrier. Another thing is that the famous pup was from Albany NY, a very long way from Rockport, Texas, we're pretty sure that our guy hasn't traveled throughout the contiguous 48 states, to say nothing about Owney's travels around the world.
And then there's the whole difference in sleeping arrangements. POB prefers a nice soft dog bed (or perhaps a human bed) as opposed to mail sacks for sleeping on and he's really not big or fierce enough to serve & protect any lost mail bags like Owney did.
As cute and sweet as this little pup is, he probably won't end up on a postage stamp, but his loving personality and adorable face surely will put a stamp one someone's heart. To change POB's home address, please contact:
