5 Ways You Can Help the Community Through the WWN!

That's me!...with some wonderful women at the last
networking mixer at Latitude 28'02'!
A Note from Alicia: "Dear Friends, When I came to live in Rockport, I thought I might be here a few months...a year...tops. 5 years later, I, like so many others, have found and embraced the real togetherness that is so prevalent throughout this community.

When I first came to Rockport the WWN helped me in a variety of ways, even before I started working on the Newsletter in 2011. The WWN helped me gain employment, connect with others and gain local knowledge that to this day is often hard to find elsewhere, but it really took me years to realize all the wonderful ways the WWN affects and aids this community. I'm still quite often surprised by its reach and ongoing impact.

While I might attend to the daily workings of the WWN, the interaction and positive impact belongs to ALL of us in the Networknow, and throughout the last 10 wonderful years! Please help me keep the WWN and its positive impact going for many moons to come!

I've put together a list of 5 things that individuals and businesses can do to support each other and our community through the WWN...

#5 Keep Your Business Listing Up-to-Date

Hundreds of readers visit our website weekly to gather local information from our directoryoften specifically about small, local businesses. By keeping your business listing up-to-date you are helping the community acquire and share the most accurate information about your business! If you require technical assistance, please ask us for help! (More info)

#4 Share Your Community Event or Announcement

In a town with so many wonderful activities, it can be difficult for residents to keep it all straight. Sharing a community event or announcement gets eyes on your organization's most pertinent information. It is our hope to make it easier on the reader by funneling the events through our newsletter and social media pages...all in one place...entirely for free! (More info)

#3 Interact & Reply

Help your friends and neighbors with their most urgent inquires. Respond to posts such as "Recommendations Needed" and express kudos for ladies and gents who share their creative or informative writings and pictures! The more we acknowledge each others' efforts, the more folks will want to share their expertise with all of us! (More info about comments)

#2 Support Local Businesses by Leaving Kudos

We all know the best advertising is the "word of mouth" variety. When you have a wonderful experience, meal or encounter with a business be sure to let others know by leaving kudos on that business's directory listing. Those positive comments archive on our website, and come up in search engines like Google, which will encourage others to support local! (More info about comments, Find a Business in the Directory)

#1 Invite Your Neighbors to Join You in the Network

The more the merrier! When a new family or business comes to town, show them some southern hospitality by sharing the knowledge and togetherness of the Network. Organizations such as real estate agencies and churches will be promoting local businesses, community organizations and more to fresh faces!...which will in turn expand our positive impact in the community!
