"Last Friday at the Live Oak Learning Center, 8 HSAC volunteers and 8 pups could be found wandering around the school looking for a story to be read to them. They had been invited to attend the schools DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) event that promotes literacy in our children. And what could be more fun than reading a story to a dog? Although most of the 4 legged students couldn't sit still long enough for a whole book, the children and staff were very lenient and understanding - some were even willing to give up their snacks for doggie petting time. The Humane Society and Adoption Center of Rockport/Fulton wishes to thank the entire school, with special mention to Stephaine Russell and Diana Davis for the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful event." - Deb Navin, Volunteer, Humane Society and Adoption Center of Rockport/Fulton
