Let's Chat | "Cursive No Longer Taught in Most Schools...What do you think?"

"Dear Friends: With elementary grade age granddaughters, I am disappointed that cursive writing is being removed from core curriculums. Across the nation, cursive writing is being taken out of public education in favor of keyboard/typing skills only. According to USA Today, "At least 41 states do not require public schools to teach cursive reading or writing."

I am worried about the effects of not being able to read historical documents as well as eliminating the benefits it has on fine motor-skill development, hand-eye coordination, etc. I was curious what others thought on the subject. Thanks, P.F."
