Roving Reporter | "Royal Due Date?" | Text and Photo by Jeanette Larson

"The royal terns nesting on Rockport Beach are having babies! Look closely to see an egg being watched over by a group of adults. A single egg is laid each breeding season and both male and female care for the egg. About 30 days later, the egg hatches. We are seeing some babies already at the beach. Royal terns are only found at ocean beaches." - Jeanette Larson
