BREAKING NEWS | Rockport Center for the Arts Closes on Downtown Property | Message from Luis Purón, Executive Director

A Message to the Membership from the Executive Director:

I am happy to report that the events hosted over July 4th weekend were a tremendous success. Joey Blazek's solo exhibit and the Red, White and Rockport! Art Auction Party were triumphant hits. The 47th Annual Rockport Art Festival continues to be one of the most prestigious art events in the United States. Thousands of visitors attended from all parts.

As I have already reported [link to post], in September of last year the board of directors conducted a long-term strategic meeting to plan for the future of our beloved institution. Today the Rockport Art Association, Inc. closed on property in downtown Rockport. Beyond the acquisition of property, no plans have been finalized. The Art Center will continue to operate as usual and deliver on its promise to provide stimulating programming to the community and its visitors. Our doors on Navigation Circle will remain open. We will collaborate with artists, host magnificent events and energize others by implementing our mission.

Rockport Center for the Arts will continue to invest and plan for the future. In the meantime, I invite you to remain engaged in our programming.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Luis Purón
Executive Director
