"The members of the City of Rockport's Parks & Leisure Services said farewell to retiring Director Tom Staley (left) and welcomed incoming Director, Richard Martinez (right) at their August 22, 2016 meeting.

Members of the pool and aquatic center staff presented Staley with a "candy bar poem" that expressed their message wishing him well as he embarks on his new journey. Chocolate and vanilla cake was served. The cake teased: "Good Bye Tension, Hello Pension (pictured below)." - Jeanette Larson

Jeanette Larson is a retired librarian and author. She and her husband, retired architect and artist Jim Larson, moved to Rockport several years ago for the birds, the beach, and the coastal community.
