Wall Breaking of First New State-of-the-Art Emergency Room and Urgent Care in Rockport, Texas

Local community leaders and Code 3 Emergency Physicians join together today to officially “Wall Break” to begin construction on a new 8,000 square foot Emergency Room and Urgent Care facility to be located at 400 N. Enterprise Blvd., Rockport, TX.   Code 3 ER will provide full service emergency care 24/7 combined with urgent care. The state-of- the-art facility will be fully staffed with board-certified emergency trained physicians, nurses, paramedics and radiology technicians.  It will be equipped with 6 emergency patient rooms, 2 urgent care patient rooms,  on-site lab, CT scanner, digital x-rays, ultrasound, a pharmacy licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as well as a COLA accredited lab.

Code 3 Emergency Room and Urgent Care is privately owned and managed by Code 3 Emergency Partners, LLC.  In May, 2015, they formed their own stand-alone emergency room at The ER at Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.  In April, 2016, they expanded their services to Carrollton, Texas and opened Code 3 Emergency Room at Carrollton and Fast Pass Urgent Care.  This will be Rockport’s first standalone Emergency Room since the early 1980’s.  At that time, the ER handled mainly transports from the oil field.  “The great people of Rockport are very welcoming and we are thrilled to be a part of your community.  Our goal is to establish a transparent and trusting relationship with our patients. Our urgent care will be inside the ER so you never have to worry about choosing between urgent care and ER.  Our board-certified Emergency Physicians will ensure that you are screened and treated in the appropriate location.” – Carrie de Moor, MD, FACEP, Chief Executive Officer.

Code 3 Emergency Room at Rockport Medical Director, Justin Hensley, MD, has lived in the coastal bend for the last 5 years. “Seeing the long transport times from Rockport to the hospitals I worked at, I saw the need for emergency care in Rockport. I decided to create a situation where there would always be a board certified, board eligible emergency physician on site that could treat and stabilize any emergency that shows up. It’s what I would want for my family.”-Justin Hensley, MD.

An example of some conditions that should be evaluated in a Code 3 Emergency room is anything that could be life or limb threatening, labor, chest pains, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, stroke symptoms, fractures and dislocation, severe, unrelenting pain, severe headaches, seizures, head injuries and lacerations just to name a few!  The urgent care is able to handle minor injuries and conditions such as cold symptoms, sore throat, dental pain and medication refills. Code 3 has designed processes to provide compassionate, efficient and quality care to all of their patients.

Thank you to Aransas County Medical Services, Inc., for working with Code 3 Emergency Physicians to make this a reality for the people of Rockport.
