OVER 200 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE CURRENTS EXHIBIT SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3RD

KITTY DUDICS SELECTS FIVE MERIT ARTISTS FOR A GROUP SHOW TO BE HELD AUGUST 2017

Rockport Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the five Merit artists selected for the Standing Out 2017 Exhibit. Standing Out will celebrate 33 years with a reception in August of next year. The five artists were selected by juror Kitty Dudics for their entries in the Currents 2016 exhibit which opened to the public this past Saturday. Over 200 people attended Currents, also known as the All Members Show. The five artists are:

Kitty Dudics, this year’s juror recently retired as Professor of Art from Del Mar College where she taught for over 30 years. These days, she is enjoying increased time in her studio Girasol (Spanish word for Sunflower).

By popular vote, the Peoples' Choice artist will complete the group of Merit artists with a sixth person. Popular vote entries will continue to be accepted at the docent desk while Currents is still up. The show comes down January 13th 2017. Patrons can cast votes by visiting the Art Center during hours of operation.

Rockport Center for the Arts is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. Admission is always free. For more information call (361)729-5519 or visit www.rockportartcenter.com.
