Pet Adoption | R/F Humane Society: Madeline - A Dignified Matriarch

This week, we’d like to tell you the story of Madeline – no, not that adventurous young Parisian of the popular children’s books, but the senior girl of Cattery 2. Not a matronly cat – a more petite and delicate kitty who sits in the corner, quietly taking in the antics of those much younger than she. Quite often, Madeline has complained to her many admirers that her life does feel like she’s living in a boarding school like the character in the books – all the romping, gossiping, whispering – at almost 10 years old, who needs that? Madeline is perfectly happy sitting in a lap being petted and loved on, maybe a brushing and then definitely a nap is in order.

She’s not looking for an exciting, adventurous life (been there, done that), she’s looking for what a lot of older folks crave, peace and quiet. Her ideal new home would have a reticent single human – maybe a pair, but owners who will be content to have a kitty who will join them in the restful life of maturity. It’s her time, she’s earned it – she has been at the shelter for 5 long, noisy, busy, frantic years. The storybook Madeline is about to celebrate her 75th birthday, our Madeline is about to celebrate her 10th – some figure they’re about the same age. Do you have the lifestyle fit for this beauty? A reserved and refined style? A home filled with grace and elegance? How about just some serenity?

Due to Miss Madeline's age, her adoption fee has been waived, but do not that birth date fool you, this kitty has a long, healthy life ahead of her - we just don't want it to be at the shelter.
