Pet Adoption | R/F Humane Society: Ricky's Tale

ADOPTED!!!

This week’s featured pup has a bit of a sad story, some of which is his own making. Handsome Mr. Ricky was born in early January of 2011 and has been a shelter dog since he was just a puppy. Yes – 6 years, almost his whole life! Why, do you ask? He looks like a sweetheart, what with those eyes of liquid chocolate that are so similar to Ricky Martins. And that fur coat – super soft & so thick, kinda like Ricky Scaggs’ head of hair. Not to mention that smile of his – just look at it! Can’t you just picture him laughing at one of Ricky Gervais’ jokes? Being a spare-parts-put-together dog, there just may be some type of Latin Lover in there, as this little guy has the moves of Ricky Ricardo.

So all of those assets add up to one fabulous companion pup right? So, again, why is Ricky still at the shelter? Well, it’s because he is not an easy hook up. This guy would like to be wined and dined and taken on a few dates before he goes home to sleep with you (and we have it on good authority that he’s a great cuddler & a bit of a bed hog!). Ricky requires some time invested in getting to know you before he becomes your best buddy. Spend an hour in his kennel 3 or 4 times and he will be begging you for belly rubs, walks in the park and rides in the car – he LOVES all of those things and especially when he can do them with someone he can trust. So, if you are looking for a “Best Bud” and are willing to take the time for this relationship to blossom, come on out & spend some time with Ricky – a few times – and you will not be disappointed in the happy, affectionate, laploving pal that steals your heart (and your pillow!!).
