Rhonda's photo of the moon over Lighthouse Inn in Rockport won first prize, which was chosen from dozens of entries picturing the "Beaver Moon" on November 17th.
"We were amazed about the buzz the "Moon Off" generated. We received MANY more entries than we expected...and they were GOOD! Taking a photograph of the full moon is pretty easy. Making a good photograph of the full moon is HARD!" said juror Stephen Fisher.
"As with most photography competitions, the judging was difficult. We had entries ranging from "first timers" to pretty experienced "shooters." It was not easy to pick just one photograph to acknowledge. We ended up posting a Winner and 2 Honorable Mentions that were published on the WWN's Facebook Page and in the WWN Rockport Newsletter."
Our winner, Rhonda Cantu is a resident of Rockport and an avid birder, wildlife photographer, and regular community contributor to the WWN. Perhaps you have seen some of her beautiful photographs and videos over the last few years. If not, be sure to check them out here.
"As her prize, Rhonda picked an image from my portfolio. I had her image choice printed on aluminum in a 12x18 size. It was so much fun for me to meet with Rhonda and her husband Marty and give her her print!" said Stephen.
Congratulations, Rhonda! And thanks again to everyone who entered and to Stephen Fisher for his generosity!
