The Art Center of Corpus Christi | "Rockport/Austin Ceramic Artist Stan Irvin Has Show and Workshop in August"

Ceramic artist Stan Irvin is teaching a two day “Pushing the Boundaries of Form and Surface” clay workshop Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 at the Art Center of Corpus Christi (ACCC). The workshop coincides with his solo show in the Kucera Gallery at ACCC, which has an Aug. 2 opening reception.

Locally, Irvin’s work has been shown at the Rockport Center for Art, the Austin Street Gallery, and more recently at Estelle Stair Gallery. He recently became a Rockport part-time resident when he and wife Vicki Totten purchased a home and studio space in the downtown area near the future home of the Rockport Center for Art. Irvin is planning to have a studio in Rockport and will eventually host open studio events once his studio is complete. The Austin resident is a Professor Emeritus at St. Edward’s University where he started the ceramics program after starting the ceramics program at Laguna Gloria Art Museum, also in Austin.

The upcoming workshop is intended for wheel throwers and hand builders and will involve printing on clay, the use of silk screens and stencils and the use of altered wheel-thrown elements. For a complete description of the two day workshop or to register go to:
