Happy Summer! A Note from Alicia, The WWN Webmaster

Dear Friends -- I hope you're having a wonderful week and great summer overall!

Yep, There's Really People Behind the Curtain! :)

When you opened this newsletter (text ran in newsletter 7/21/16), you might have noticed that a few things have shifted. I have been working hard to streamline the newsletter, and to make it match our newly updated website. Nothing is automated at the WWN, and I do all our postings and coding by hand.

For a web designer, coding for email newsletters is one of the most difficult tasks due to the amount of various mobile devices (like tablets and smart phones) that are running vastly different software programs, which interpret our email code. Think about how many different iPhones folks use: 5, 6, 6 plus, and Android phones...and also how many email clients (like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.), that all have different needs and capabilities. Suffice it to say, it's no small task! I really enjoy it though; it's sort of like a big puzzle! As the newsletter has grown in size, and our readership has increased, organizing the vast amount of info has been challenging.

I personally appreciate the folks who have provided feedback through our 'quick poll's! Specific info about what's working best for you, is really helpful, and allows me as a designer to change things around to what folks like best.

5,000 Readers Means More Monthly Costs

Some of you might be surprised to learn that we have over 5,000!!! newsletter readers now, which is super exciting (and doesn't include our social media pages!), but coincidentally increases our monthly bills. It does indeed take money to keep the WWN newsletter and website running...So please tell local businesses and organizations to advertise with us, so we can continue providing you with a free weekly publication. We really appreciate your support!

If you'd like to help us this month, please consider a $10 or more donation, click here, or buy an ad for your business click here. Thank you! If you are a business or organization who has advertised with us in 2017, a HUGE THANK YOU to you as well!!

Please Thank & Support Our Contributors!

I'd also like to take a minute to thank our regular contributors. I'm sure many of you have noticed the enormous contribution Jeanette Larson has made to the WWN over the last year. Her 5-star reporting has given everyone a more in-depth look at many of the issues that folks feel very passionately about in Rockport-Fulton! If you see her, please thank her personally if you enjoy her coverage! I'm personally very thankful for her contributions!

Also, some other folks who have been regular bloggers in 2017 have provided oodles of colorful content and helpful information to the WWN, including: Vicki Totten, Sue Ready, Christy Ilfrey, Deb Navin, and Kayla Butts. Again, if you see these folks on the street, please thank them personally for their hard work! If you have contributed to the WWN in the past, I encourage you to submit again, even if it's been a while. We are always eager to see and share the talents that are so rich in the Rockport-Fulton area!

If you need help submitting, just ask! I am happy to help you!

Have a very safe and wonderful summer!

Alicia
