Rockport-Fulton-(August 29, 2017) The 29th Annual HummerBird Celebration has been cancelled for 2017 due to severe damages throughout the area and to the Rockport-Fulton High School, where the event is based.

The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and HummerBird Committee regretfully made the decision to cancel the event as Rockport-Fulton has been declared a natural disaster area. With the probability of no electricity or running water for the next 2-4 weeks, holding a successful event was deemed impossible. Clean-up alone will take months at the least.

The HummerBird Celebration will resume next year with a celebratory 30th Anniversary and plans are to make it a bigger and even better event.

Glenn Gomez, 2017 HummerBird Celebration Chairman, stated " Our Community has been hit with a category 4 hurricane, which in itself is a disaster, but the destruction and aftermath is the real tragedy". Gomez also stated " HummerBird Celebration is 29 years strong. Rockport-Fulton is an amazingly resilient community. We will recover and HummerBird Celebration 2018 will be stronger than ever".

Those with pre-purchased tickets will have three options: they can allow their registration to apply for the 30th year event, leave their pre-purchased tickets as a donation or send a letter to the address below and we could request a refund. All refunds will not be handled until at least 30 days from now.
