"Copano Bay fishing pier closed to public" via Action 10, Aug 15, 2017

"Both sides of the Copano Bay fishing pier over in Rockport have been closed to the public. TxDOT closed the 86-year-old pier because of it's unsafe structure. Back in June, the south side of the pier partially collapsed. TxDOT says they consulted with Aransas County officials and the Navigation District before closing off the pier. The boat ramp on the south side of the pier will remain open to the public. Officials say an environmental investigation will determine the future of the pier."
