Piecemakers by the Bay members make quilts for many reasons but the most important is giving. Our quilts are delivered to returning veterans; Camp Hope, interim housing for Wounded Warriors and their families suffering from combat related PTSD; and VA Hospitals and Nursing Homes. At Christmas, lap quilts are giving to the local Nursing Homes. And then there are the Children.

There's Ronald McDonald House, there's Camp Aranzazu, there's the youth residents at South Texas Children's Home and there's our school children. Every Fall (and whenever needed) the school counselors at the ACISD are provided quilts for age appropriate children. There are no restrictions for sharing these quilts. If a child is in need, Piecemakers by the Bay needs to give them a quilt... to show them love and value, to give them comfort and encouragement.

In 2016, the Piecemakers by the Bay donated a total of 483 quilts Piecemakers by the Bay will be hosting the area Quilt Show January 27-28, 2018. All proceeds from the 2018 Donation Quilt will go to ACISD Mentoring Program, Aransas County Humane Socety, Coastal Bend Troop Support, and various youth groups.

Pictures are: Lois Sitton and Linda Sumner with the 65 quilts presented to Camp Aranzazu in June for children attending camp Kristi Williford accepting, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, 50 rug mugs that will be distributed in the goody bags for the new teachers in our school system this year.
