VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS

If you or anyone you know has provided FREE assistance to our area, such as volunteer clean-up, food, equipment or materials, in-kind donations, etc. Please mail or deliver this information to the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, 319 Broadway, Rockport, TX 78382. They are compiling this information for the local government entities to share with FEMA. Upon receipt, FEMA will put a monetary figure against the assistance/donation and apply it towards our share of the cost of recovery efforts. Or, you may fill out a form online. click here

The City of Rockport’s Building & Development Department is here to help residents understand how to rebuild after the recent disaster. To determine your flood risk and rebuilding requirements, call (361) 790-1125 or click here for more information.

Due to the high volume of inspection requests, the Building Department is changing its deadline for inspections. You may schedule an inspection for the same day by calling the Building Inspection Department’s 24-hour Inspection Request Line, 361-790-1177, no later than 7:00 A.M. of the day you need the inspection. Any inspection requests received after 7:00 a.m. will be scheduled for the following business day.

As a result of the high volume of traffic we have been experiencing post-Harvey, we have been unable to process both emailed and faxed permits in a timely manner. Therefore, all permits must be applied for in person until further notice.

Please visit our office at 2751 Hwy 35 Bypass, located on the west access road between Pearl and Market Streets, to obtain permits.

ALL CONTRACTORS must register with the Building Department. Required documentation:


* Complete Contractors Registration

* A list of employees who are authorized to work under your badge

* Drivers license

* License plate number (for city authorized vehicle decal)

* Proof of liability insurance

* Copy of state license (for electrician, mechanical and plumbing contractors)

* WPI-1 for re-roof & remodel permits (windows, doors etc.)

* Asbestos report for commercial demolition permits

Citizens are asked to separate their refuse into three separate piles – 1) trees and shrubs, 2) building debris, and 3) appliances. Failure to do may result in no pickup up at all. We ask that you place them near the curb, not on the street, and that they not be covered or hamper access to meters.
Municipal Court

The municipal court office is temporarily located at 410 E. Bay St. We are accepting payments via money order in the office. Online payments can be made at www.officialpayments.com or by calling 1-800-272-9826. Case number is required when making online or phone payments. Communication can be sent to us at Court@cityofrockport.com. Court business communication is monitored regularly through cell phone due to down phone service and internet service at the office.
