Rockport Center for the Arts | "Currents 2017: The All Members Show"

The Exhibition Committee at Rockport Center for the Arts Invites You to Participate in

Currents 2017: The All Members Show
Despite Hurricane Harvey, the Show Must Go On

Exhibition runs from December 2, 2017 through January 27, 2018

The annual all-member exhibition highlights our family of artists and provides a chance to stand out as a Merit Artist the following year. An invited juror will chose five Merit Artists, and a sixth is selected by popular vote.

Because of Hurricane Harvey, the venue has changed to 106 S. Austin St. in downtown Rockport.  The interior space is in the process of being upgraded. It contains 1,000 feet of linear wall space and 1,500 square feet of exhibition space.

Currents 2017 Juror: Lauryl Eddlemon

Lauryl Eddlemon is an Austin-based graphic designer, painter, and art collector.

While earning a BFA in Commercial Art at Texas State University, Lauryl also focused her studies on fine art and art history. This led to a 12 year career as the Art Director at Southwest Art Magazine furthering her art knowledge and involvement with the art community. In the 1990s she and her husband moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. While there she studied painting and worked as a freelance graphic designer, concentrating on print design such as magazine ads and catalogs for local galleries and artists.

In Texas, Lauryl continues her freelance design business, assisting local artists, galleries, and arts organizations. She frequently takes painting classes and workshops, devours art history books, and enjoys building her personal art collection.
