Rockport Center for the Arts | "Support the Arts in Rockport"

Rockport Center for the Arts has had quite the year! Although the building was devastated by Hurricane Harvey, our spirit remains strong. Donate now and help us continue the artistic tradition in Rockport.

This is what we have been up to the past three months...
Birds in Art
This renowned exhibition, organized by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin, was scheduled to open in Rockport a few weeks after the Hurricane. Thankfully, the birds landed nearby, at the Art Museum of South Texas, beginning a partnership and collaboration between the Museum and Rockport Center for the Arts.
Currents 2017: The All Members Show
The annual all-members show is set to open December 2, 2017. Exchange day is November 19. This year’s juror is Lauryl Eddlemon, former Art Editor of Southwest Art Magazine. There is no better time to renew your membership than today.
Art Education
Free Family Saturdays
Our free Saturday art program was the first educational offering to return, less than a month after the Hurricane. Since September 23, local families have been able to participate in this free art activity at WindWay Gallery.

Fall Calendar
Our Fall calendar is full of workshops and classes, ranging from ceramics, to life drawing, to collage.
11th Annual Rockport Film Festival
The 11th Annual Rockport Film Festival took place November 2-4. Over 40 films were screened thanks to a partnership with the Texas Maritime Museum, 1000 film enthusiasts and 22 filmmakers attended. Our collaboration with Rockport Rotary is as strong as ever.

Studio Tour & Kickoff Party
Rockport Center for the Arts has announced the first Rockport Artists' Studio Tour. It takes place April 7, 2018. The new event will start with a Kickoff Party on April 6, 2018. The must do social event of the Spring Social Season. Stay tuned for more details.
A New Home for the Arts in Rockport

The Art Center is Back, in the Heart of Downtown !
Rockport Center for the Arts has set up offices at 106 S. Austin St. Classes have already started at the new location, and by early December, we will open the Gallery and the Gift Shop. Business hours and a calendar of exhibitions will be announced shortly.

Your support is critical as we continue to serve our community with compelling cultural programming.
