Roving Reporter | "Rockport Center for the Arts is Back in Business" by Jeanette Larson

Exhibit runs through January 27, 2018
The Rockport Center for the Arts celebrated its re-opening at 106 S Austin Street with a bang on Saturday, December 2. The center was packed for the opening of Currents: 2017 All-Members Show. A lot of art was sold during the reception according to director, Luis Puron. Also re-opened in time for holiday shopping is the popular gift shop which features jewelry, books, fabric, cards, and more by local artists. Currents will continue through January 27, 2018, the longest running members show in the center's history. Hours have also expanded a bit, open Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Puron expects to release a full calendar of exhibits for 2018 before the end of the year.
