Roving Reporter | "Sandy Beaches Ahead!"

The Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) has started work on beach restoration at Rockport Beach. The huge piles of sand will be used to restore the beach at the Salt Water Pool and the beach areas that are used for parking along Little Bay. According to Harbor Master, Keith Barrett, the sand is from the district's dredging projects, which saves funds as the ACND already owns that sand. It will be supplemented with sand brought in from Victoria. Work will begin as soon as the weather improves and Barrett expects to have that work done in time for Spring Break. Palapas have already been replaced along the beach areas. The General Land Office (GLO) will restore the beach on the Aransas Bay side but there is no timeline for that work.
