Community Information | Goose Island State Park Reopens for Camping

As of March 1, 2018 Goose Island State Park (GISP) will reopen for overnight visitors. Although the park itself reopened in January, overnight camping remained unavailable. Especially with Spring Break coming up, being able to again camp is a major accomplishment post-Harvey. Robbie Merritt, Interim Superintendent of Goose Island State Park, said, "We hope that visitors will come back to the island and enjoy the coastal breeze during their stay at the park.” Reservations for camp sites can be made by calling  (512) 389-8900 or online through the GISP website,
