Dear Parents and Community,
We want to make you aware of an incident today, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at approximately 12:40pm at Rockport-Fulton High School. There are false reports circulating on social media platforms. These are the facts of the incident as events transpired.
A student wrote on an outer campus wall a threat to shoot up the school today. The student has been identified and will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and subject to any other state or federal laws that are applicable.
A Threat Assessment Team was immediately assembled and Rockport Police Department was notified. Police Officers were strategically placed throughout the school for the remainder of the day.
The campus was carefully checked and cleared as safe. We always take any threat to the safety of students and staff seriously. We can not stress enough, how often we practice safety procedures. Due to this, we were able to quickly assess the situation and put our protocols in motion.
We continued teaching and learning for the remainder of the day. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Joseph Patek
