Roving Reporter | "A Tern's Luck Turns"

A Wings Rescue Center volunteer rescued an injured tern that was walking in the road at Rockport Beach last Saturday evening. The bird's wing is broken in three places. After triage and evaluation, the bird was transported to the ARK in Port Aransas for additional care. The bird may need surgery to be able to use the wing again. Many birds are injured by cars and visitors to the Beach are reminded that nesting season is starting. Terns and Black Skimmers are seeking out nesting sites. Please slow down near the birds; they don't fly as fast as we can drive.
