Candidate for the U.S. Senate, Beto O'Rourke, held a town hall meeting for Aransas County residents at Drifters RV Park. Over 200 people from Aransas County, Victoria, Corpus Christi and elsewhere attended. After talking about his platform, O'Rourke responded to questions from the audience. O'Rourke was one of the first politicians to visit Rockport following Hurricane Harvey as "none was hit harder than Rockport." He spoke about the need for more assistance to the area and the need to plan and be prepared for the next disaster. Prior to the program, Texas singer Tish Hinojosa performed.
