RCA | Education Updates September 19, 2018

We've had a busy start to the fall here at the Center. Lots of activity and more on the way! We continue to add new offerings for the fall and have made some timing adjustments based on feedback we have received. We've heard from lots of folks that October works better for their schedules, so we've adjusted some start dates so classes start in October.

Classes with new start dates include Ceramics with Genie Mysorski, Dance with Teresa Fajardo Lambert, Phoneography with Stephen Fisher, Stained Glass Series with Susan Fest and Wonders of Water Media with Anita Diebel.

New classes in the catalog include Landscape Painting Secrets with Kitty Dudics, Documentary Film Making Masterclass with Jeffrey Brown, as well as more details for Bob Lockhart's Ceramic Workshop and Jay Hester's Portrait Workshop.

You can read details about all the current offerings by clicking on the image below to open the catalog.

Also, stay tuned next week for more info on some new offerings including Quilling with Ray Allen, Punch Needle Rugs with Steve Grappe and Fused Glass Creations with Janet Lee.

It's an exciting time to roll up your sleeves, try something new and get creative!

We hope to see you soon @ the Center!

About the Class:

In this 3 day course you will learn the ancient technique of block printing and leave with a whole new skill you can continue to explore at home! In this class we will learn how to design, carve and print by hand on linoleum blocks, following the traditional form of printmaking.
This course is open to beginner and intermediate artists. No matter what your experience level just come prepared to learn, explore, and have fun with the endless possibilities of printmaking. Prints can make wonderful gifts, greeting cards, posters and limited edition works of fine art. Bring your drawings, inspiration images, or just come as you are ready to experiment and explore the joy of printmaking. By the end of the session, participants will take home the basic tools and resources needed to continue exploring block printing at home.
About Tabitha:

Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, Tabitha received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2009, then went on to receive her Masters of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art in 2011. Tabitha uses traditional materials such as oil paint, pastels and block printing to create images that combine portraiture and landscape. She draws influences from European and African art and uses them to explore questions about her own identity and heritage.
