RCA | Esteemed Friends, Today we celebrate the one year anniversary of the Art Center’s renaissance…

Esteemed Friends,

Today we celebrate the one year anniversary of the Art Center’s renaissance…

  • Exactly one year ago, on August 30, 2017, we opened a temporary office in Corpus Christi – 5 days after Hurricane Harvey

  • Thanks to WindWay Gallery, the first program that we jump started was Free Family Saturdays, on September 23, 2017 – 29 days after Harvey

  • Thanks to the Art Museum of South Texas, Birds in Art opened to public September 28, 2017 – 35 days after Harvey - we never cancelled a show

  • The first workshop with Bob Lockhart, visiting from the State of Kentucky, was held on October 24, 2017 - 60 days after Harvey

  • Thanks to the Hunt family and the Texas Maritime Museum, The Rockport Film Festival, our first major event since the storm was hosted without a single glitch, on November 2, 2017 – 68 days after Harvey

  • Rockport Center for the Arts re-opened its doors to the public in a new facility, with a new exhibit on December 2, 2017– 99 days after Harvey

Thank you to the many donors, patrons, supporters and volunteers from across the United States that know our 50 year old mission is an important one. Rockport’s art community has never been stronger.

With affection,
The Staff and Board at Rockport Center for the Arts
