Aransas County, Rockport and Fulton leaders and interested citizens are urged to attend two sessions in February in regards to developing an organization to build back the economy of Rockport-Fulton due to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

The objective of the sessions is to receive input and bring awareness to the formation of an economic development organization. A comprehensive economic development strategic action plan has been created at the request of governmental agencies and philanthropic organizations as to the resurrection of the Rockport-Fulton economy. It can be found at www.rockport-fulton.org under the EDC Council. The plan was reviewed and approved by local governmental entities in April and May of 2018.

"Our economy is not going to entirely fix itself; we have to have a plan and then diligently work the plan," explains Long Term Recovery Team Lead Kim Foutz.

The first session will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5th at the Rockport Fulton High School Commons. There will be a main speaker followed by table top stations where community members can feel free to give input, ask individual questions and address concerns or words of encouragement.

The second session will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 12th at the newly reopened and renovated Rockport Country Club. There will be a moderator presenting a panel to speak on and answer questions. Immediately following the luncheon table top stations will be setup for further questions, concerns and encouragement.
